ICE-CMM Poland representatives at 1st Distributed Energy Congress

On September 25-26, 2023, the Distributed Energy Congress was held at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.

The Center of Excellence for Coal Mine Methane hosted the Coal Seam Methane session. During the meeting, issues related to methane emissions from hard coal seams and the possibilities of its utilization were discussed. Technical solutions aimed at reducing methane emissions from coal beds and its effective utilization were the next point of discussion. Innovative methods of methane removal were presented, which enable the capture of this gas and its use as an energy source. Various technologies aimed at increasing the efficiency of methane drainage and minimizing losses were also presented. During the congress, examples of good practices and projects that have already been implemented in various regions of the world to reduce methane emissions were presented. The technological and economic potential of these solutions is an incentive to implement them on a larger scale.
